Poem: My Dear Cupid, Friend of Mine

My Dear Cupid, Friend of Mine
Never thought I’d thank you for the pain you inflicted,
but without it,
I wouldn’t have found happiness,
On the website that night.
In many ways you’re cupid–
letting me die, cry, but you never let me go,
I set myself free.
After beating me, black eyes and broken eye sockets, a misplaed bruise behind the tattoo on my chest, your hands around my neck, the strangling,
your fists weak now,
I’m better off.
My heart strong now
Your hate tried to ruin me
 life vampire they call it
You sucked life out of me —
used me, completely,
You left an empty shell.
For awhile I hated you —
With the passion I loved you–
For awhile I pitied you
With the passion I made love to you,
Now we make love, and I’m easily, (thankfully)
forgetting you.
Forgetting you — my dear,
Cupid, friend of mine.
I thought I needed you,
But its always been you
Needing me — ripping me apart,
Destroy me,
Leave me on empty. This engine couldn’t go forward.
I found me, I complete my
I found him, he loves me, he goes as far as complimenting me —
with the same passion I now say
Goodbye.
